EPD is a precision metals fabrication and machining facility specializing in high integrity containers for nuclear and hazardous service.  We also provide unique testing capabilities and manufacture pressure vessels, gloveboxes, and other specialized hardware for a variety of industrial applications.

With more than 20 years of experience, Washington Group International’s Engineered Products Department (EPD) operates one of the most comprehensively equipped facilities for precision metals fabrication and machining in the Southwest.

Located in Carlsbad, New Mexico, EPD maintains more than 100,000 square feet of shop space with an additional 18 acres of property for product testing, metal finishing, material staging, and storage.

The Research, Development, and Manufacturing facility includes a 24,000 square foot building used for machining and fabrication plus a 30,000 square foot building used for pre-processing (cutting, forming, shearing, rolling), fabrication, assembly, and inspection operations.

The Greene Street facility includes 40,000 square feet for fabrication and metal finishing and 10,000 square feet for assembly and testing.

Government Technical Services Division
EPD is part of the Government Technical Services Division (GTSD), which also offers operations, maintenance, and other support services to government facilities across the country. 

Tonopah Test Range.  GTSD currently provides maintenance, operations, and test support to Sandia National Laboratories at the DOE's Tonopah Test Range, located 150 air miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada, within the boundaries of the Nellis Bombing and Gunnery Range.  Our staff maintains facilities, equipment, and infrastructure throughout the 280-square mile site.  We also supports weapons testing projects conducted by the DOE and DoD.  Our activities include downhole recovery of test articles that penetrate the dry lakebed, equipment staging, test site prep, target construction, setup of mobile data acquisition systems, and operation of cameras and telescopes.
